At The Wonder Women, we want to emphasize that struggling to maintain a healthy relationship with food does not negatively reflect on your character or self-worth.

The Importance of Proper Nutrition

Without proper, balanced nutrition, you will struggle to lose fat, gain muscle, and maintain your ideal physique while putting yourself at an increased risk for various physical and mental conditions, especially more severe illnesses linked to an unhealthy relationship with food.

While emotional eating is not an eating disorder in and of itself, it is a characteristic of disordered eating behavior, which can lead to conditions such as binge eating disorder and bulimia nervosa.

Resources and Seeking Professional Help

Suppose you’ve tried self-help options but still can’t control emotional eating. In that case, we highly recommend working with a coaching platform like Precision Nutrition that focuses on nutrition basics or seeking therapy. A therapist can help you better understand why you eat emotionally and learn coping skills.
